A rabbi once said.....

A rabbi once said to me
Ditch the staff and take up the stick
and I wouldn't have thought it a bother
Had he not said the same to my other

A conquistador my other is
In whose footsteps I follow in
And I do not see how she in her rightful flank
would give up her place post and rank

This Sage with whom we had our audacity
To dream plots and themes of great conquests
Had only just spoken in a clear speech
An order to be obeyed at the exact point of his behest

My other presumed he spoke not to her
but to me what was to the effect
A repeat of his request to do as he said
But I held on with daring strength to my staff

I knew as my father once taught me
A staff could be your trust or your shield
In as much the teacher wanted to show me
To let go of my inhibition and dependence

I assumed a position of great concentration
The lambs must be guided to safety
Now that the devil has been killed
Lying dead by the lively lamb that cedes
